KENNY ENG

Kenny Eng, 45, is the Director of Nyee Phoe Group (NPG), a horticulture business and a thought leader in the farm entertainment space. Growing up amongst gardens and greens as part of the 4th generation of NPG, the legacy and values of his family’s century-old horticulture business – being evergreen, upholding quality and setting trends – have always been deeply ingrained in the aspiring entrepreneur’s mind. After graduating from the National University of Singapore in 1999 with a degree in real estate, Kenny decided to join his father in the family business. In 2000, Kenny realigned the company’s direction to create holistic experiences at the farm to introduce a naturally-inspired perspective to life. This vision, termed ‘HortiTainment’, has been driving NPG’s journey till today. As part of this vision, NPG launched Mosscape Concept Pop-up store at Scotts Square on 1 April 2019, taking over a humble space of 2,800sqft. Aiming to bring the countryside to the heart of town, visitors to the pop-up can look forward to three key elements; Mosscape’s iconic preserved green walls; newly launched food label The Local Farm – an exclusive farm-to-fork takeaway menu in partnership with local farmers; and special moss art workshops for everyone to enjoy. The pop-up is available till 31 July 2019.One to keep his cultural roots and heritage close to his heart, Kenny took up the position of Kranji Countryside Association’s (KCA) President from March 2014 – March 2019. During his leadership, KCA was instrumental in organising the 2016’s RASC Conference in Singapore, and the ongoing quarterly Kranji Countryside Farmers’ Market. Previously, Kenny was also a council member of the National Youth Council, *Scape Co Ltd board member, and part of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee.Kenny continues to actively develop nature-inspired lifestyle experiences and specialised products and services for a diverse clientele. This includes planning for weddings/corporate/family events, which is under the umbrella of Gardenasia. Kenny also believes that it is important to educate children at a young age as this would allow them to learn about and understand Singapore’s farming community and how they can play a part. GardenasiaKids, his children’s edutainment arm, is fronted by his Eco-Ambassadors, Titoy & Morchoo; and running a 2-hectare venue along Neo Tiew Crescent, a Bistro which offers a farm-to-table menu as well as a Farmstay for families to spend quality time together.
